Hartman先生于2001年成为梅贝克奖（Maybeck Award）最年轻的获奖者。美国建筑师协会定期向一名加州建筑师颁发该奖项，以表彰其在“建筑设计领域的终身成就”。在2008年9月基督之光大教堂（Cathedral of Christ the Light）的落成典礼上，罗马教皇本笃十六世（Pope Benedictus XVI）将梵蒂冈的社会服务骑士头衔“圣西尔维斯特”（St. Sylvester）授予Hartman先生。2010年，美国天主教大学将Hartman评选为“沃尔顿杰出设计评论家”。Hartman还分别于2009年和2018年获得鲍尔州立大学和德保罗大学的荣誉艺术博士学位。2016年，罗马美国学院邀请Hartman担任William Bernoudy常驻建筑师，以表彰他对该领域的贡献。
