Dan Herman

AIA, LEED GA

Managing Principal

Dan Herman brings an urban sensibility to his work, with a focus on infill and densification through mixed-use development. His projects convert underutilized sites into lively micro-cities that are walkable, transit-oriented and sustainable.

Dan brings this city-making approach to more than two decades managing commercial office, mixed-use, residential, retail and hospitality projects. He began his career in SOM’s New York office and later returned to his native Los Angeles. While much of Dan’s work has been in his hometown of LA, he has also worked extensively in Texas, with projects in Austin, Houston and Dallas.

Our mission and legacy is defined not only by the cities we create, but also by people we engage and inspire. As Pericles said, ‘What you leave behind is not what is written in stone but what is woven into the lives of others.’

Dan’s recent work includes large-scale urban developments that bring together office, hotel, residential, and retail uses, including the 1 Hotel West Hollywood, 8500 Sunset Boulevard, 100 West Walnut and 1111 Sunset Boulevard. He has also led adaptive reuse and renovation projects that have transformed former industrial buildings into vibrant contemporary workplaces, including The Desmond in Downtown Los Angeles and the Pen Factory in Santa Monica, as well as two recent studio projects, Radford Studio Center and Basin Media Studios.
