高耸入云的中国国际贸易中心是北京最高的建筑之一，也是北京中央商务区的核心建筑。这座综合功能摩天大楼体现了宁静致远的优雅风格，在这个高速发展地区内鳞次栉比的楼群中一枝独秀。

大厦坚实的基座完美融入既有的城市肌理，并在视觉上稳固了渐收的塔尖。大厦首层井井有条地安排了西侧的办公入口和东侧的酒店入口。首层之上的大厦立面采用了烤瓷玻璃和金属遮阳板，在最大化自然采光的同时，也有助于减少日照热效应，这些措施帮助该项目获得了 LEED® 黄金级别认证。大厦的表面呈现瀑布般光影和纹理交织的效果。

国贸三期 A 阶段大厦标志着中国国际贸易中心开发项目的三期工程。大厦紧邻东北侧的中国国际贸易中心 3B 阶段工程——这座 58 层的大厦同样由 SOM 设计，并已于 2017 年竣工。
